Update: I had this post (almost) ready to go last night. I was so anxious about the reveal I could barely sleep but set an earlier than usual alarm so I could wake up and launch early this morning. Maybe my anxiety was well reasoned –because I woke up (late) to a data base error and unable to log into anything.
Add the gloominess of a rainy Monday and forgetting to turn the coffee maker on automatic to the list and you can probably see where my nerves were. Shot.
But, a few hours that later, here we are. And I’m so excited to be sharing the new, improved and almost complete Ember & March…
I definitely didn’t foresee taking a month long break while all of this was going on under the hood. But, in the end, I’m glad I did. The time to focus, plan and write without interruption was much appreciated. So what do you think of the new digs?!
Let me walk you through all that is new and improved.
For starters, the design got a major overhaul, which is almost completely done. Hopefully by the end of this week, there will be a new logo sitting atop this design. Some things just can’t be rushed, but I didn’t want to push this relaunch back a day later.
It was really important to me that the new design be responsive on all devices. So whether you’re reading from your iPhone, tablet or computer it’s a seamless experience. The comments are also much easier on the eyes and easier to do on different devices.
It’s also easier than ever to find and read whatever content you’re looking for. A full listing of each category are right in the top navigation under topics and the search bar finds and displays relevant posts and pages without a hassle.
In addition to a new look, I’ve I’m introducing a new column to the blog called At Work. I’m so excited about this one –it features interviews with entrepreneurs and boss types who are killing the career game. We all want to learn how to do what do better, and I don’t think there’s any better way than to learn from those already doing it. Right? The first entry in this column goes live Wednesday morning and features a pretty amazing business owner from a brand I love –so stop by and check it out!
On the non-design side of things, I’ve has some time to step back and think about the direction that this blog is heading. I’m looking forward to more collaborations and actually getting out there and creating content. Oh, and now that I’ll definitely be a Philadelphia transplant –more Philly-centric content, for sure!
The rest of this week will be spent working out the technical glitches, but if you see anything really off going on please let me know. Updates to follow! Cheers to the almost official start of summer and fresh beginnings!
