Today, I have the pleasure of introducing you to a blogger with a truly genuine heart and joyful spirit. Pinja blogs over at That September Feeling, where she talks about a range of subject, and truly shares what’s on her heart. I love reading Pinja’s posts because they are so sincere and unapologetically real. But, I’ll just let her speak for herself!
Welcome to the blog! First off, tell us a little bit about yourself and what That September Feeling is all about!
My name is Pinja, and I’m a twenty-something blogger from northern Finland. That September Feeling is really just a place to share my thoughts and opinions of different things happening around me. It is really just an outlet for me to get my voice and opinions heard.
You changed your blog’s name not too long ago. What inspired the change?
I’ve been blogging on and off for years now. During this past summer, I felt the need to step up my game and really get into blogging more. I thought changing the name of my blog would help me start fresh with my blog. That September Feeling was the perfect choice in my opinion, because I feel that fall somehow denotes the start of something new. Maybe it’s the schoolchild in me talking but I feel like the year sort starts in September.
What are some of your favorite topics to blog about?
I blog about pretty much anything and everything, so it’s hard to say what my favourite topic is. I don’t really have a niche (yet) and I’m not sure if I ever want to have one. Lately I’ve enjoyed writing about personal growth and my journey with it. But I also love to write about positivity and gratitude, life and love, music and movies, and… well, everything. I’m pretty indecisive actually as to what my go to topics are.
Tell us 3 things facts that most people don’t know about you! Ready, set, GO!
I’m very, VERY, messy and I’m quite a slob actually. I tend to leave dirty dishes everywhere and I when I use something I never return it to its place.
I used to write fan-fiction about my favourite bands and TV shows and live dvicariously through the stories I made up.
I can’t swim properly and I’m actually kind of scared of big bodies of water.
You’ve been writing a lot about self-improvement lately. What encouraged you to take a journey to a better you?
Honestly, I just got so sick of all the negativity in my head (and my laziness), soI decided that it was time to do something about it. I realized that the reason I wasn’t happy with the things going on in my life was because I wasn’t happy with myself. Somehow I realize that complaining about things or comparing myself to others was simply feeding my low self-esteem. So now I’m slowly trying to change my mindset into being more grateful for my life and taking action to change the things that I can.
With the holidays approaching, could you share with us what your favorite thing about the holiday season is? Are there any holiday traditions that you celebrate and enjoy?
In Finland, the holiday season pretty much begins and ends in Christmas. And I love it! I love wrapping presents, listening to Christmas carols and taking walks in the snowy nature. I also love how Christmas Eve rolls around it gets so calm and quiet everywhere. Our holiday traditions are pretty much just watching movies, eating too much and spending time with our families… and eating some more.
Anything else you’d like to share?
I just want to say that now that holiday season and the end of the year is getting close, people tend to get super stressed out. I wish that no matter how hectic life may get, we would all remember to relax and stay positive, and that we remember to take care of ourselves – and each other as well.
