Hey peeps! Can you believe we’re already at the August’s mid point? As great as this summer has been, I have to admit I’m starting to itch for fall weather again. I’m over the humidity and high temps and desperately want to cozy into a fluffy cardigan soon. I guess that’s a good thing, because September will be here in the blink of an eye.
I feel like I have so much to catch you all up on, so I’m going to try to break it up into a few posts to make it a bit less overwhelming (and to help keep my thoughts together).
I’m also introducing a new edit to the blog called Eye On. In almost every reader survey I’ve sent out, you guys have asked me to share more of the things I like, and that’s just what Eye On will cover. An easy edit featuring everything from tech wear and decor to new recipes and coffee brands. I hope you’ll enjoy this first one!
And since I’m sharing some rugs I have my eye on, it seemed like the perfect time to give an update on my move.
Okay, to make a very long story as short as possible, the past few weeks have been super hectic on the move front. Some mishaps had me stuck in apartment hunt limbo for the past few weeks, and up til this past weekend, I wasn’t sure where my next digs would be, only that I had to be out of my current apartment.
As things usually do, the situation worked out, and to my benefit. This next move won’t be permanent (which I hate because, as you know, I loathe moving), but will give me more time to save, plan and (most importantly) shop for the place I will be settled into as my own. That move will be happening around October. More updates to follow on this, I’m sure.
In the interim, I’m sharing a cozy apartment in one of my favorite Philly neighborhoods that offers an easy commute to the new job and to everything else.
I didn’t think packing up things from my college apartment would be as emotional as it has been. Lot’s of feels, but mostly good ones as I’m so excited for the next chapter in my life. And although the next few months are going to be filled with crazy challenges and changes, I know that it’s all coming together as it should.Though this weekend’s move will be into a fully furnished apartment, my next definitely won’t be, so I’m taking this time to really hone in on my living style. I’ve never had to fill an entire home before! I know I want to play on clean lines and neutral colors as far as furniture goes, but I definitely want to spice things up with fun patterns and pops of color especially in the living room.
I really love this black and white pattern from Ikea, that would go well with almost anything. What decor items have you had your eye on lately?
