Wake up, grab coffee and power through. Seems like the standard goal getter, get-things-done mentality morning routine of champions, right?
Happy FriYAY everyone!
I’m keeping it short today, only because I have a lot going on in preparation for some fun things that will be hitting the blog starting Monday.
Today, I’m over on Instagram taking over Half United’s account for the day! You all know how much I love brands that give back, and Half United does just that. A few weeks ago, I had the chance to spotlight Carmin, one of HU’s co-founders as she shared some of her tips and let us peek into a day At Work With her. Half United products provide at least seven meals for someone in need. Nothing makes me feel better than doing good simply by collecting things I would have purchased anyway.
You can follow my takeover today on their Instagram @HalfUnited! I’m so thrilled that I got the chance to take part in this collaboration and I hope you enjoy!
Do you ever feel that the weekends are just made for indulging in the bites we tend to avoid during the week in the name of “being good”? Once Friday night hits, I’m usually all about fried (or white) rice over brown, extra sauce on everything and not skimping on the bacon bits…but that’s just me.
Or maybe it isn’t. Have you noticed that Instagram also gets a little more foodie focused once the weekend hits? Maybe it’s because everyone finally has a free moment to snap a gram-worthy photo of their food, or because we all are really indulging for those three short days.
Regardless of the reasoning, I love it.
Who are some of your favorite food grammers? Better yet, what’s your favorite weekend food to indulge in?
Do you ever notice small things change about yourself and just wonder: when did that happen?
That’s how I been feeling, pretty often, over the past couple of months. I’m telling you, if you aren’t into it already, become wildly comfortable spending time solo –know yourself better than anyone else does. The more in tune you are with yourself, the better.
It’s the little idiosyncrasies that make us who we are, after all. I remember when I was little, I was determine to stray away from all things pink. It seemed too obviously girly, so I stuck to purple in very specific hues and shades. I’ve had almost an internal promise to myself never to stray away from this color scheme.
I’ve been following the @IHaveThisThingWithFloors movement for a while. Such a simple concept –floors and feet all around the world. The little things that point out the similarities in each of us. Causing us to realize, we’re more alike than we think.
These photos showcase some of those small changes I’ve noticed: a new color affinity, and a redefinition of minimalism. It really is the little things.
